Not at all! Our beginner salsa classes in Cork and bachata workshops in Dublin are specifically designed for adults with zero experience. We start with the absolute fundamentals and move at a pace that suits everyone. You'll be amazed at what you can learn in just a few weeks.
Our community is for adults 45 and over. We've found this age group creates a really welcoming atmosphere where everyone's comfortable learning together. Our weekly meetups in Limerick and monthly social events across Dublin attract people from all backgrounds.
We run beginner salsa classes twice weekly in Cork, monthly bachata workshops in Dublin, and weekly social dance meetups in Limerick. Most people find it works best to attend consistently—we recommend at least once per week if you're learning, but you can drop in whenever it suits you.
No, you don't need to bring anyone! We rotate partners regularly during class so you get comfortable dancing with different people. This actually helps you learn faster because you experience different styles and get better at leading or following. Most of our members came solo.
Salsa is faster, more energetic, and counts to 8 beats with sharp movements. Bachata is slower, more romantic, and counts to 4 beats with flowing hip movements. Many of our members learn both—they complement each other really well, and it keeps things interesting. You can start with whichever appeals to you more.
Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move freely—jeans, trousers, or comfortable dresses all work great. For shoes, anything with a smooth sole is ideal so you can pivot without getting stuck. Some people prefer dance shoes, but regular shoes with a bit of grip are fine. Just avoid heavy boots or trainers with sticky soles.
