The Journey
How a passion for dance became a mission to build community
First Salsa Night
Walked into a salsa night at Temple Bar in Dublin. Wasn't a dancer then — just curious. But something clicked that evening. The energy, the community, the joy of movement. That one night changed everything.
Formal Training & Certification
Completed dance training at the Irish School of Dance in Dublin. Then earned internationally recognized certifications in bachata and salsa instruction from the International Dance Council. Two years of serious study, practice, and real mentorship from experienced instructors.
Launched First Community Program
Started teaching in Dublin. Within three years, over 200 regular participants. What surprised me most? It wasn't the younger dancers. The adults in their 40s and 50s who came were hungry to learn, connect, and feel alive again.
Over 45s Social Dance Movement
Pioneered the "Over 45s Social Dance Meetup" concept in Cork. Proved that age-appropriate instruction combined with genuine peer community could completely transform how adults approach learning Latin dance. This wasn't just fitness — it was connection.
Expanding Across Ireland
Established thriving dance communities in Dublin, Cork, and Limerick. Weekly social meetups, beginner classes, and educational resources. Currently Senior Latin Dance Educator at timewit Limited, focused on making Latin dance accessible and joyful for every mature adult who walks through the door.

How We Work
The teaching philosophy that makes the difference
Here's what I've learned over 15 years of teaching adults: most people don't struggle with rhythm or coordination. They struggle with feeling self-conscious. That's the real barrier.
So we start there. Every class, every event is built on the assumption that you belong here exactly as you are. No judgment. No comparison. Just honest teaching and genuine community.
Technique matters. We're not soft on the basics — posture, frame, footwork, timing all get proper attention. But we teach these things in an environment where you're actually relaxed enough to absorb them. That's when real learning happens.
And honestly? The best part isn't the dancing. It's watching people who came in nervous walk out laughing with new friends. It's the person who says "I didn't think I could do this" and then they do. That transformation is why this work matters.
